RPF to add help kiosks at eight more Tiruchi Division stations

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) will install help kiosks at eight more stations in the Tiruchi Railway Division to expand its passenger assistance system, with the new units expected to be functional by mid-October. The kiosks will allow passengers to instantly report security concerns, seek medical or emergency help, and report lost property directly to the RPF Divisional Control Room in Tiruchi. The eight stations selected are Thanjavur, Tirupadirippuliyur, Nidamangalam, Vellore Cantonment, Karaikal, Mannargudi, Velankanni, and Nagore, with additional kiosks planned for Chidambaram and Puducherry. The system was first launched at Srirangam station in November last year and later extended to Chidambaram and Puducherry in February. Since its launch, the RPF has handled 77 complaints at Srirangam, 41 at Chidambaram, and 39 at Puducherry, covering issues like missing luggage, medical assistance, and passenger guidance.
