Romanian PM Bolojan questioned for two hours in Iasi corruption case
Romania's interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan was questioned for over two hours on Friday at the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) in Iasi as a witness in the corruption case against businessman Fănel Bogos. Bolojan testified about a September 23, 2025 meeting he granted Bogos, who is accused of offering 1.5 million euros to have the head of the Vaslui Sanitary-Veterinary Directorate replaced. The prime minister made no statements upon leaving, and his office confirmed he answered all questions as a witness. Bogos's lawyer dismissed the accusations as unfounded, claiming his client only reported alleged abuses and never discussed bribes with Bolojan. The case also involves former Deputy Secretary-General Cristina Trăilă, who faces charges of influence peddling.
