Riviera beaches extend season into November as warm October draws crowds
Despite the official bathing season ending, many beach establishments on the Riviera are extending their season into October and November due to sunny weather and mild temperatures, with bars and restaurants reporting full tables. The region's bathing ordinance deadline has been exceeded by numerous operators. In Cesenatico, several establishments remain open, including Bagno Romana and Bagno Venezia until November 2, while Bagno Pineta closes October 18 and Bagno Vega October 10. Some venues like Maré and Bagno 2000 stay open year-round, with Bagno Veneto offering free sunbeds and planning Christmas and New Year events. Simone Battistoni, president of the Cooperativa stabilimenti balneari representing all 128 beaches in Cesenatico, says more members are extending their season, noting it works because only some remain open. The season officially ends with the first November weekend's "Il Pesce fa Festa" event.
