Construction projects in Coimbatore have significantly slowed due to a 30% increase in costs over the last six months, impacting both residential and IT developments. The price of essential construction materials like blue metal, M sand, and P sand has surged by 50%, according to builders and contractors who have petitioned the District Collector. This has created difficulties for those with existing contracts. Approximately 2,000 builders and contractors are affected, facing challenges in completing projects due to the rising costs of key materials, leading to potential disputes and financial losses.
