Rio de Janeiro State Health Secretariat guides residents on dengue mosquito prevention

The Rio de Janeiro State Health Secretariat (SES-RJ) is urging residents to take simple precautions to prevent the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito and avoid a new dengue epidemic. These measures include ensuring water containers are covered, cleaning drains, and eliminating standing water in items like tires and bottles, especially during warmer, rainier periods. Last year, Rio de Janeiro experienced a dengue epidemic with over 294,000 probable cases. SES-RJ is working with municipalities on ongoing control efforts and public awareness campaigns.
