Researchers release OCT image dataset for AI diagnosis of macular diseases

nature.com

Researchers released a dataset of 1,786 optical coherence tomography images from 296 patients to support AI diagnosis of macular diseases, addressing a shortage of public clinical data. The dataset includes four categories: age-related macular degeneration, central serous chorioretinopathy, macular edema, and normal. Two retinal specialists independently reviewed all images, with a senior specialist resolving disagreements to ensure reliable labels. The dataset is openly available under a Creative Commons non-commercial license, intended for future artificial intelligence research on OCT-based diagnosis.
