Researchers measure cognitive decline using brain scans

Firefly Neuroscience researchers have discovered a new method to objectively measure subjective cognitive decline, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia in Alzheimer's patients, potentially enabling earlier detection. The study found that combining EEG/ERP and vMRI scans yielded the most accurate results, with EEG alone also providing reasonably accurate predictions. The research utilized real-world data from memory clinics, demonstrating the potential for office-based assessments. This research builds upon Firefly's existing FDA-cleared AI platform and recent acquisition of Evoke Neuroscience. Earlier detection of cognitive decline is crucial for improved patient outcomes and treatment opportunities.
