A new report from Bitdefender reveals a rise in the sale of stolen streaming accounts on the dark web, with prices ranging from $5 to $15. Cybercriminals are mimicking legitimate sites, offering "lifetime guarantees" and customer reviews to attract buyers. Fraudsters obtain these accounts through phishing or by using stolen credit card information. They also trade gift card balances for cryptocurrency, which can then be converted into streaming accounts for sale. Bitdefender recently warned Netflix users about a scam involving fake payment links sent via text messages. These links lead to fraudulent pages designed to steal login and payment information.
