Replacing butter with plant oils reduces mortality risk
A new study shows that replacing 10 grams of butter daily with plant-based oils can lower overall mortality and cancer mortality by 17%. This research analyzed data from over 200,000 participants over 33 years. The study focused on the effects of butter versus oils like olive, soybean, and canola. Participants were free of major diseases at the start and completed food intake questionnaires every four years. Experts noted that butter's high saturated fat content may increase "bad" cholesterol, making it less healthy than other dairy options. The findings highlight the potential health benefits of choosing plant-based oils over butter.
