Rep. Tiangco calls for compliance with local firecracker rules ahead of New Year celebrations

Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco urged the public to adhere to local government rules on firecracker use for the New Year. This reminder follows a report from the Department of Health showing over 40 firecracker-related injuries from December 22 to 25. Tiangco highlighted that many of the injured are children, with 20 victims aged 19 and under. He called for responsible use of fireworks and compliance with local regulations. The congressman also requested the Philippine National Police to increase efforts against illegal firecracker sales, especially online. He listed several banned firecrackers, emphasizing the need for stricter monitoring.
