Reform UK clarifies campaign bus is exempt from MOT requirements
Reform UK has clarified that its campaign bus, which drew attention for having an expired MOT, is actually exempt. The bus qualifies under a special category for exhibition and play buses, allowing it to operate without a valid MOT. Concerns arose after social media users noticed the bus, used for campaigning, had an expired MOT according to government records. Reform UK confirmed that all necessary documents were submitted and the vehicle is properly taxed and insured. The bus, registered in 1988, last passed its MOT in 2014. The maximum fine for driving without a valid MOT is £1,000, but the vehicle's exemption means no fine will be issued.
