Ray Martin returns to Indonesia to document transformation 20 years after Boxing Day tsunami

Journalist Ray Martin returned to Banda Aceh, Indonesia, for a documentary titled *Tsunami: 20 Years On*, marking two decades since the Boxing Day tsunami. He found the area transformed from a "hellhole" into a "humble, human place." During his visit, Martin reconnected with local families and tracked down Yunan, a man he had met in 2004. He noted the resilience and kindness of the Achinese people, despite their past suffering. Martin reflected on the emotional impact of his earlier experiences, stating that the memories of loss and destruction remain vivid. The documentary will air on December 8.
