A Malayan tapir calf was born at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington, on February 2, 2025. This is only the second tapir birth in the zoo's 120-year history. The calf is healthy and has distinctive white spots and stripes. The mother, Yuna, and father, Baku, are both 10 years old.
