Rare condition causes boy to bleed from eyes, ears, and nose

An 11-year-old boy bled from his eyes, ears, and nose, baffling doctors who found no physical cause. Extensive tests ruled out bleeding disorders and injuries. Doctors diagnosed stress-associated hematohidrosis, a rare condition where blood is secreted through the skin or body openings, possibly linked to psychological stress. The boy received a beta blocker and cognitive behavioral therapy, leading to a significant reduction in symptoms. Hematohidrosis is extremely rare, with fewer than 50 reported cases globally.
