RSF seized Sudan's largest oil field

Sudan's Rapid Support Forces have seized the country's largest oil field, Heglig, amid intensifying fighting in the south. The takeover of the strategic, resource-rich Heglig oil region is considered a pivotal point by the RSF, which stated it will secure all oil installations and ensure production continuity. The conflict, ongoing since April 2023, has devastated infrastructure and displaced millions, with the RSF now controlling significant parts of the west and south, aided by allies.
