Rapid Bucharest, Bistrita, and Rm. Valcea win pre-season handball trophies

With less than a month until the 2026/2027 women's handball National League season, top Romanian clubs won pre-season tournaments, with Rapid Bucharest taking the Cupa Craiovei and Gloria Bistrita and SCM Rm. Valcea winning their home competitions. Gloria Bistrita, the Romanian champion, defeated Corona Brasov 32-27 in the Poarta Transilvaniei final, while SCM Rm. Valcea beat Montenegro's Buducnost Podgorica 31-24 at the Constantin Tita Memorial. Rapid Bucharest secured three wins in Craiova, beating HC Dunarea Braila 29-27 in their final match. The Supercup of Romania takes place in Bistrita from August 21-23, featuring Gloria against CSM Bucharest and Rm. Valcea against Corona Brasov. The National League season begins at the end of August with seven matches scheduled.
