Rain fails to dampen farmers' resolve as SKM protest enters Day 4 in Chandigarh

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha's protest near Chandigarh entered its fourth day on Friday, with heavy rain failing to deter farmers who continued their agitation and pledged to persist until authorities respond. The scheduled stage program was cancelled due to rain, but farmers marched from Bestech Square Mall to the protest site. SKM leaders agreed to give the administration until Saturday for talks after police sought an additional day to coordinate discussions. A meeting chaired by presidium members expressed resentment over the Centre and Punjab government's perceived disrespectful attitude toward the farmers' charter of demands. As part of a phased strategy, SKM announced a peaceful flag and placard demonstration on Saturday from 5pm to 7pm at Airport Road crossings, involving 20 workers from each participating organisation. Leaders from BKU (Ekta-Dakonda) said farmers would not be deterred by adverse weather.
