Radha Rani Swings in Cradle as Temples Mark Radha Ashtami in Vrindavan, Kashi

Radha Ashtami was celebrated Saturday in Vrindavan-area temples, monasteries, and ashrams with Radha Rani's tableaux decorated and worshipped with rituals, with devotees adorning her and swinging her in a cradle. At the ISKCON temple in Durgakund, the festival included an abhishek, offerings, aarti, kirtan, and discourses, with devotees performing a ceremonial bathing of Radha-Krishna idols using fragrant flowers and various substances. Temple president Achyut Mohan Das said Radha Rani is Lord Krishna's blissful energy and the embodiment of love and devotion, with the occasion being a special opportunity to strengthen surrender and devotion. Mahaprasad was distributed after the event. In Mahmoorganj, the Hare Krishna Hare Ram Kirtan Society held a three-day festival's second day with special adornment of Radha Govind Dev idols, a midday aarti, and offerings of 108 dishes. In the Pataleshwar area, idols were adorned with zari garments and jewelry from Mathura, with offerings of butter, dry fruits, and sweets, while women sang traditional songs.
