RS virus protection for Caribbean babies should be administered earlier in the year, according to Radboudumc research. The virus peaks during the rainy season, June to December, on the islands. Current fall vaccination timing leaves babies unprotected when the virus is most prevalent. Dutch guidelines are often adopted, but this study suggests a different approach is needed for the Caribbean. The RIVM will review timing adjustments.
