Qualcomm launches new chips for smart home devices featuring RISC-V technology

Qualcomm has introduced new chips for smart home devices, highlighted by the QCC74xM, its first programmable module using RISC-V technology. This module supports advanced connectivity features like Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, suitable for smart home hubs. The second chip, QCC730M, is a low-power Wi-Fi 4 module designed for battery-operated devices such as security cameras and smart locks. It features a 60MHz CPU and hardware support for security algorithms. Both chips are currently available for sampling, with commercial release expected in the first half of 2025.
