Punjab official orders survey of illegal colonies in Ludhiana
Punjab Chief Information Commissioner Inderpal Singh has ordered a survey of illegal colonies in Ludhiana. This decision follows the state government's failure to conduct such a survey in the past seven years. The order came after a resident's Right to Information request was inadequately addressed by the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority. The authority only referred the resident to its website for information on unauthorized colonies. The commission noted that while a survey was conducted in 2018, no further assessments have been made. It emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in managing unauthorized colonies in the district.
