Pune police deploy 80 teams for Holi traffic monitoring

Pune City Police have deployed 80 teams at 50 locations to monitor traffic violations during Holi celebrations. Checkpoints are set up to address drink-and-drive cases and other traffic rule breaches, aiming to enhance public safety. Last year, police took 5,500 actions for traffic violations during Holi. So far this year, 950 actions have been reported. The police will continue monitoring from 11 am to 2 am to ensure safe celebrations. The Government Railway Police have increased security at railway routes to prevent people from throwing color-filled balloons at moving trains. Patrolling has been intensified around key stations to enforce safety measures.
