Pune police book relatives for putting glue in 9-month-old's mouth

Police in Pune have registered a case against three relatives, including a woman, for allegedly putting superglue into the mouth of a nine-month-old boy during a family dispute over property. The child was treated at a hospital and discharged. The incident occurred around noon on July 31 at the boy's home in Kalwad Vasti, Lohegaon, when the infant began crying during an argument. The suspects, from Kalyan and Thane, are close relatives who had come to settle an old property dispute; the father had left for work, and the woman allegedly applied the glue, causing the child's tongue and palate to stick together. The boy's father, a casual worker, filed a complaint on Monday evening, leading to charges of voluntarily causing hurt. Police have served notices to the three suspects, who are also casual workers, and are investigating the case.
