Public meeting for Route 5 bridge replacement March 19

A public information meeting will be held on March 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Lackawanna Public Library to discuss the Route 5 bridge replacement project. The project will replace a 60-year-old bridge over the abandoned Buffalo Creek Railroad and improve access for pedestrians and cyclists. Scheduled to start in early 2026, the project will cost approximately $7.5 million and is expected to be completed by fall 2026.
