Probe launched after discovery of empty syrup bottles

A surprise inspection at a medicine shop in Chas revealed many empty bottles of codeine-based cough syrups. Officials found that the store lacked proper documentation for dispensing these prescription medications. The inspection was led by SDO Pranjal Dhanda, who noted concerns about potential drug abuse, especially among youth. Over 70 empty bottles were discovered near the shop. Authorities have ordered a probe into the store, the pharmaceutical company, and nearby establishments. A report will be submitted to the district commissioner for further action.
