Prison officer murdered over inmate affair discovery

Former prisoner Elias Morgan was found guilty of murdering prison officer Lenny Scott, who had discovered a sexual relationship between Morgan and a female colleague. Scott was shot dead outside a gym in Skelmersdale last year after finding a mobile phone in Morgan's cell containing evidence of the affair. Morgan had attempted to bribe and threaten Scott to conceal the relationship. The female prison officer, Sarah Williams, was previously sentenced to 18 months for misconduct in public office after admitting relationships with multiple inmates, including Morgan.
