Prime Minister's sister-in-law joins school foundation board as government funding doubles

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's sister-in-law joined the board of Teach for Sweden, after which government funding to the organization more than doubled. Marita Bildt joined the school foundation's board in January 2021. Since then, government support has increased by 124 percent, from 12 million to 28 million kronor annually. Experts suggest the situation appears problematic and could raise suspicions of favoritism, even if not illegal, due to the close family ties.
