Premier League clubs smash summer transfer record with £3.198bn spending

Premier League clubs have set a new all-time summer transfer record, with spending reaching £3.198bn, surpassing last year's £3.14bn mark. The total dwarfs the £1.13bn spent five years ago, highlighting English clubs' financial power. Major deals include Chelsea's £117m signing of Morgan Rogers and Manchester City's £116m purchase of Elliot Anderson, both record British fees. Four of the 11 most expensive signings in football history occurred this summer, with three involving Premier League clubs.
