No pine trees will be transplanted or cut down for the waterfront project. The Port Authority clarified that the existing line of pine trees will remain unchanged, with work respecting the root systems under agronomic supervision. Environmental groups had raised concerns about the potential uprooting of 27 pine trees on Viale Colombo for sidewalk construction.
