Police relocate landfill protest in Montefano to new venue

A planned protest against a landfill in Montefano has been relocated by police, moving from the Percorso delle Acque to the Parco delle Rimembranze in Pieve Torina. The No Discarica committee confirmed the sit-in for tomorrow morning but expressed surprise at the decision. The Macerata Questura cited public order and safety reasons for the location change. Committee leaders Giuseppe Stacchiotti and Enrico Filipponi stated they could reach the original site only after removing identifying protest elements, as requested by authorities. The committee emphasized that all their previous demonstrations have been peaceful and civil, with no incidents suggesting aggressive intent. They invite participants to gather at 9:30 am in Pieve Torina.
