Police officer shoots woman, delayed ambulance response leads to her death

A woman died after being shot by a police officer and then waiting over 30 minutes for an ambulance. Thawanna da Silva Salmázio, 31, was shot by officer Yasmin Cursino Ferreira on April 3rd. A fellow officer was heard on camera urging for the delayed rescue. The victim suffered fatal internal bleeding. The officer's defense claims she acted lawfully, while the victim's husband disputes the timeline and claims he was prevented from accompanying his wife.
