Police drop charges in expired chicken case at King Harald's funeral

nrk.no (Swedish) —

Norwegian police have dropped charges against a woman in her 30s accused of serving expired chicken to officers during King Harald's funeral in September. She was detained and later fired from her Oslo hotel job. Prosecutor Marion Berg Hauge said the investigation found no evidence anyone fell ill, and it was not proven she intended to disrupt police operations. The case was closed due to insufficient evidence. Defense lawyer Julie Conradi Larsen called the decision correct, arguing her client should never have been arrested or charged. She believes the case should have been dismissed as no criminal offense occurred.
