Police arrest suspect linked to multiple murders and rapes in Gujarat
Rahul Karamveer Jat, 30, was arrested on November 24 at Vapi Railway Station in Gujarat. He is accused of raping and murdering a 19-year-old woman and is linked to at least four other murders across multiple states in just a month. His capture followed a joint investigation by police from six states, analyzing nearly 2,000 CCTV camera footages. Jat was identified at the railway station, where he was seen wearing the same clothes found at the crime scene. Jat has confessed to several crimes, including the murder of a fellow passenger in Karnataka and a robbery in West Bengal. He targeted lone passengers, often in disabled coaches and women’s compartments.
