Police arrest suspect in Nairobi women's chama robbery

Police arrested a man suspected of involvement in an armed robbery that disrupted a women's chama meeting in Nairobi last month, with detectives still searching for a second suspect. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said officers from Kayole Police Station made the arrest in Korogocho following the July 26 robbery, where two armed men stormed a salon and stole about Sh50,000 and several mobile phones. Police recovered a motorcycle and two knives as exhibits. The suspect is being processed for arraignment, while a manhunt continues for the remaining attacker. The arrest follows recent police operations against street crime, including the capture of two phone-snatching suspects along Digo Road last week.
