Poisoned elephant killed over 120 vultures in South Africa

Over 120 vultures died in a South African national park after consuming the carcass of an elephant poisoned by poachers. Poachers poisoned the elephant with agricultural pesticides to harvest and sell its parts, leading to the vultures' deaths after they fed on the carcass. Authorities rescued 83 additional vultures from the scene. This incident is one of the worst mass poisonings of vultures, which play a vital role in the ecosystem.
