PNP warns of fake accounts claiming police resignations

inquirer.net

The Philippine National Police (PNP) warned the public about two fake social media accounts claiming that police officers have resigned after the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte. These accounts are not associated with real police personnel. PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo stated that the Anti-Cybercrime Group is investigating the legitimacy of these accounts. She confirmed that there have been no actual resignations from police officers related to Duterte's arrest. Duterte was arrested on March 11, 2025, in connection with an International Criminal Court warrant for alleged crimes against humanity during his presidency. Supporters have been protesting for his release.
