PM Modi forgives Noida teen as complainant withdraws case over abusive remarks

The complainant has withdrawn her case against a 15-year-old Noida girl over abusive remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following the teenager's apology and Modi's forgiveness. The complaint was initially filed against eight girls. Supreme Court lawyer Smriti Singh withdrew her complaint after the girls apologized and uploaded apology videos, saying she no longer wished to pursue the matter. A zero FIR was registered on July 29 under BNS sections for insult, public mischief, and defamation, and later transferred to Delhi Police. The controversy began after a video of the girl using abusive language during a protest at Jantar Mantar went viral. Modi had said he forgave the students, and the girl's mother had appealed for leniency, alleging police harassment and incorrect age details in the FIR.
