Placerville man found guilty of starting Crozier Fire that led to El Dorado County evacuations
A Placerville man has been convicted of starting two wildfires in 2024, including the Crozier Fire, which forced thousands to evacuate in El Dorado County. The Crozier Fire burned nearly 2,000 acres before being contained. Jason Robinette, 48, was arrested about a month after the fires began. He was found guilty of two counts of arson in El Dorado County Superior Court. His sentencing is expected in about a month.
