Pixel Now Playing update redesigns song menus and favorites

Google is rolling out a new version of its Pixel Now Playing app, introducing interface tweaks that change how users interact with identified songs. Tapping a song's three-dot button now opens a bottom sheet instead of a floating menu, improving one-handed navigation. This panel shows track info with Share, Add to favorites, and Remove from history buttons, plus a play button and music service shortcuts. The Favorites tab also now displays dates and times like the History feed, with minor icon and spacing adjustments in settings. The redesigned Now Playing launched in March, and Google reintroduced the lockscreen "Tap to see what’s playing" shortcut in April. Version 2026.08.27.x is now widely rolling out via the Google Play Store.
