Pit bull attack seriously injures 6-month-old in Sonipat

A six-month-old boy was seriously injured in a pit bull attack in Sonipat's Sikka Colony on Sept 14, with CCTV footage showing the dog dragging the infant from his aunt's arms. The child was treated at PGIMS Rohtak. The dog emerged from a nearby house and attacked the aunt before grabbing the infant by the jaw, dragging him for about 30 seconds until a bystander intervened. The child suffered deep injuries to his face, mouth, and hand, requiring over 20 stitches. The infant was initially taken to a Delhi private hospital but was shifted to PGIMS Rohtak due to injury severity and costs. Doctors say his condition is improving, while police report no formal complaint has been filed yet.
