Pilot Energy has signed a joint development agreement with Capture6 to advance carbon capture technology at its Mid West Clean Energy Project in Western Australia. This partnership aims to integrate Capture6's direct air carbon capture technology with Pilot's existing operations. The first phase, called Project Wallaby, will demonstrate Capture6's technology next year. If successful, it could lead to a full-scale facility that produces freshwater and clean hydrogen while sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and facility emissions. Pilot is also acquiring full control of the Cliff Head oil field, which will be repurposed for carbon storage. The project aims to address both carbon emissions and water scarcity, aligning with Australia's climate goals and the need for sustainable water management.
