Philippines pig gives birth to piglet with human-like features and cry

A pig in the Philippines gave birth to a piglet with a "human-like" face and a cry resembling that of a human child. The piglet, born without eyes, was the fourth of eight in the litter and died four hours later. Owner Alfredo Cardinas Jr. was initially frightened by the piglet's appearance and cry. A local veterinarian stated that the piglet likely suffered from a rare birth defect called holoprosencephaly, which affects brain development. This incident is not the first for Cardinas, who previously had a piglet with unusual features. Studies show that about three percent of piglets are born with defects, with many not surviving past a week.
