Philippine police deploy 47,000 personnel for Christmas security

The Philippine National Police has deployed over 47,000 personnel nationwide to enhance public safety during the Christmas season. This deployment began on December 16 and will continue until January 6. The police are focusing on the Simbang Gabi, a series of Christmas dawn masses. So far, the first day of the event has been peaceful, with no reported incidents. In addition to personnel, the PNP has set up mobile and foot patrols near churches and established police assistance desks for emergencies.
