bazonline.ch (German)

Hobby photographer Peter Wehrli captured stunning images of a rare blood moon phenomenon over the Central Swiss Alps. Wehrli traveled to the Napf region to photograph the event, initially facing cloudy conditions. He eventually captured the blood moon after it rose above the clouds, near Mount Pilatus. A blood moon occurs during a total lunar eclipse, appearing red as Earth's atmosphere filters sunlight. The next blood moon is expected on December 31, 2028.
