Peruvians can vote with expired DNI cards in the 2026 elections if legible

Peruvians can vote with expired DNI cards on April 12, 2026, if their identity is still clearly recognizable. This exceptional measure allows voting with a physical DNI that is expired or nearing expiration, provided it is legible. However, DNI cards with severe damage or illegibility will not be accepted. DNI cards in process or lost due to theft cannot be used for voting. Young voters can use their yellow DNI if they are 18 and it is their only ID.
