Penn State opens replica of Joe Paterno's office at Beaver Stadium museum

Penn State opened a replica of Joe Paterno's office Thursday at Beaver Stadium's All-Sports Museum, two days before the 2026 season opener against Marshall. It is the university's most significant tribute to the late coach since his 2011 firing. The exhibit features Paterno's original furniture, desk items, family photos, and awards, including his 1982 championship lamp and 400th-win jacket. It omits direct mention of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, which led to Paterno's dismissal, and excludes his removed statue. The room is part of a larger display commemorating 140 years of Nittany Lions football, including trophies, Heisman honors, and an interactive screen for new coach Matt Campbell. Public hours run Friday and before Saturday's game.
