variety.com —

Peacock's live-action adaptation of Matt Dinniman's "Dungeon Crawler Carl" is scheduled to begin shooting in 2027, with production details expected to be announced within the next few weeks. Universal TV executives revealed during a New York Comic Con panel that the series is in soft prep, including hiring department heads and casting. The show is based on Dinniman's LitRPG novels and will be executive produced by Chris Yost, Eric Heisserer, and Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door banner. The series follows Coast Guard vet Carl and his talking cat Princess Donut surviving an alien-run game show apocalypse. Audiobook narrator Jeff Hays will voice Princess Donut, but no actor has been cast for the lead role of Carl.
