Upgrading to a PCIe 5.0 motherboard is not necessary for most users, as current hardware barely utilizes its full bandwidth. PCIe 5.0 offers double the bandwidth of PCIe 4.0, primarily benefiting high-speed SSDs. However, these SSDs are expensive and generate more heat, with most gamers not needing the upgrade. Upgrading is only recommended when also changing CPUs to a new socket or if a budget GPU's performance is significantly limited by VRAM.
