PCB Investigates Imam-ul-Haq Injury; Two-Year Ban Possible

Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq faces a potential two-year ban as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launches a formal investigation into the calf injury that sidelined him during the second Test against England at Lord's. The PCB is establishing a high-level inquiry committee to examine the injury, which occurred while fielding on Day 1. Imam sat out both innings of the match, which Pakistan lost by 194 runs, conceding a 2-0 series lead. If found guilty of misconduct, he could face a suspension of one to two years. The probe also revisits a March 2025 incident during Pakistan's tour of New Zealand, where Imam was reportedly found to have exaggerated a toe injury. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is also under scrutiny for separate disciplinary issues, with both players among seven dropped from the Test squad.
