Pawan Hans approves Worli jetty helipad conversion

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) can potentially convert the Worli jetty into a helipad after receiving structural clearance from Pawan Hans Ltd. This could improve emergency services and transportation. The jetty, located in a sensitive zone, requires further approvals from the Ministry of Forests and Environment, the Maharashtra home department, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The helipad would serve multiple purposes, including medical evacuations and tourism. Originally built for the Mumbai Coastal Road project, the jetty's reinforced concrete structure is now being considered for aerial connectivity. The initiative follows a directive from the Maharashtra deputy chief minister.
